This pair of Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly iii were worn by the lightning quick winger during the 2011-12 season for Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
This pair were bespoke made by Nike to his exact specifications, in the famous Montebelluna factory in Italy - where Nike make their elite contacted players boots. They feature no size labels due to them being customised to his feet.
A customised soleplate was applied to this pair, featuring the stud layout from the Nike Mercurial Vapor VII, whilst keeping the carbon fibre. So essentially the best of both models (Vapor & Superfly) into one. A lot of pro’s opted for this modification, as the “Sense Stud” technology wasn’t liked by many.
”God Is Love” embroidered into the side of each boot, back when Nike stitched players’ personalisation into their boots instead of heat applied decals.
A much lower, sleeker toe box in comparison to the retail version of the Superfly iii is also incorporated into this pair. The upper material also seems to be much softer to standard. The boots are also considerably wider.
Aaron can be seen below wearing this exact pair against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Barclays Premier League during the 2011-12 campaign.
