Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Premier League club Liverpool and the England national team. After rising to prominence with Southampton during the 2010–11 season aged 17, he signed for Arsenal in August 2011. Scoring twice in his first three matches for the club, Oxlade-Chamberlain became the youngest English goalscorer in UEFA Champions League history and also claimed a regular place in the England under-21 team. Over his six seasons at the Emirates Stadium, he played 198 games and scored 20 goals, winning the FA Cup three times. He signed for Liverpool in August 2017.
Oxlade-Chamberlain made his debut for the senior England team on 26 May 2012 in a 1–0 win against Norway in a friendly. Following this, he received a surprise call-up to the England squad for UEFA Euro 2012, becoming the second youngest player ever to represent England in the European Championships behind Wayne Rooney. He was also called up for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Here are a pair of Alex's worn Nike Hypervenom Phantom iii Elite boots which have also been modified, made to his exact specificatiobns. Worn during September 2017, these were the first pair he wore after joining Liverpool from Arsenal for a fee of £35 million.
The heel lining of each boot is made of leather, with additional padding. Many pros opt for modifications similar to this to avoid blisters, whilst adding comfort and durability.
Since joining Liverpool, Alex has won both the UEFA Champions League and Super Cup, he can be seen above wearing this pair in a training session at Melwood along side captain Jordan Henderson and mnager Jurgen Klopp.
Underneath the lacing system of each boot Nike have applied additional padding, preventing lace bite and adding protection. This model of Hypervenom with the one piece upper, lack protection in tackles with the thin material under the laces.
Additional stitching has been applied to the upper around the laces due to Alex having a modified inner lining.
The standard Hypervenom upper is thin and flimsy, and can be faily uncomfortable. Oxlade-Chamberlain's pair have a thick padded lining applied throughout the whole inside of each boot. Some parts are more padded than others, which must be Alex's preference. His ID number '805' has been written in the midsole, as they are made to his exact specifications and not a generic size.
The outter part of each boot has been personalised with his nickname 'Chambo' and the England flag, due to him being an England international.
During season 2017-18, his first at Liverpool, Alex won the 'Liverpool goal of the season' award for his goal against Manchester City FC in their 2-0 win on 4th April 2018 at Anfield stadium.
The overall shape of this pair differs heavily to the retail versions, with Oxlade-Chamberlain's pair being made much wider, with a raised toe box. Pitch markings are still present from the last time Alex used them.
The custom innersoles feature Nike's Montebelluna logo on the left, with the Nike swoosh and "Made in Italy" on the right.
