Angel Di Maria's modified Adidas Predator Instinct
Player name: Angel Fabian Di Maria
Clubs: Rosario Central, Benfica, Real Madrid, Manchester United, PSG
Position: Winger/Attacking midfielder

After beginning his career with Rosario Central, Di María moved to Portugal in 2007 to play for Benfica, earning a €25 million move to Real Madrid three years later. He played a major role in the club's 2011-12 La Liga triumph. After winning the UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid, he signed for Manchester United in 2014 for a British record £59.7 million. After just 1 season at Old Trafford he decided to join PSG for around £44 million, having failed to settle in Manchester.
A full international for Argentina since 2008, Di María has earned over 100 caps for his country. He scored the goal that won the country gold at the 2008 Olympics, and has also represented them at three FIFA World Cups and four Copa America tournaments, reaching the final of the 2014 World Cup, the 2015 Copa America, and the Copa America Centenario.
What we see here are a pair of Angel Di Maria's Adidas Predators which he wore during his time at Manchester United in the 2015-16 season. Throughout his entire professional career he has worn Adidas boots and has become one of the brands highest profile players.
A close up view of Angel wearing them in a training session with Manchester United can be seen above courtesy of Getty Images, the "Jor-Mia 7" and Argentinian flag personalisation can be seen.
Unlike the retail version of this Adidas Predator model which were made in Indonesia, Di Maria's pairs were made in Germany by Adidas' Athlete Services to his exact specifications and feature some modifications to the standard version.
The heels of Angel's pair are considerably higher than the retail versions and are lined with a much thicker padding, to meet Angel's requirements. The tongue has also been stitched to the upper.
The most noticable modification on Di Maria's pair is the upper. It is completely different to the retail version, to the naked eye it looks the same however it is made from a very soft padded synthetic leather material. There are also no rubber Predator shooting elements anywhere on the boots, this is a modification which a number of pros wearing the Predator silo have opted for over the years including the likes of Xavi and Beckham.
The retail versions feature a rather large and thick rubber element where the famous 3 stripes logo is printed, however this pair have indents on the material instead of rubber.
